Bitumen macadam / Asphalt Surfacing - Barrow in Furness, Cumbria

The works involved the removal of the defective surfacing and relaying a new 14mm stone mastic asphalt surface course and thermoplastic road markings.

 
 

Resin Surface Dressing - Altringham, Cheshire

Date: Mar-08

We laid a new 10mm close graded surface course in the late Autumn. The surface was then left to oxidise and polish before a resin surface dressing was applied using a 2 - 4mm Amber Flint aggregate.

 
 

Civil Engineering - Wrexham Town Centre

Date: Jul-08

Section 278 planning requirements. The existing high amenity Italian stone paving required realigning and an adjacent footway constructed to allow an improved access to the new development. All works carried out within the NRSWA signing lighting and guarding requirements and to the required highways departments specification and approval.

 
   

Resin Surface Dressing - Ashmore Park, Wolverhampton

Date: Mar-09

The design for a children play area was provided by the client and drawn out by the main contractor. Using a combination of 1-3mm silver grey and 1-3mm red granite a maze effect was created. To avoid the risk of scraped knees from tumbles the top surface was sanded and a clear resin sealant applied to the finished surface.

 
 

Resin Surface Dressing - Dukinfield, Manchester

Date: Mar-09

This scheme required a 2 - 5mm corn flint rounded aggregate to be laid to various locations within the environmental improvement scheme.

 
   

Resin Bound Surfacing - Silverdale Cemetery, Newcastle, Staffs.

A decorative pattern was created using stell edgings laid by the main contractor and a blend of aggregates and crushed blue recycled glass

 
 
     
   

Civil Engineering - Cheshire Hospital

Date: Apr-09

This contract involves the planning off and relaying of up to 5000 sq.m. of hospital access road. Supplementary works included substantial kerb replacement, pedestrian railing and bollard installation, electrical works to car park barrier systems and bellisha beacons, road markings improvements and coloured resin surfacing to A & E ambulance parkings. Works were phased to avoid hospital congestion with highly sensitive areas being carried out at night time.

 
 

Resin Surface Dressing - Northamptonshire

Date: Jul-08

A 2-4mm Amber Flint aggregate resin surface dressing was laid onto the main contractors 10mm close graded surface course. The surface had been left for 2 - 3 months prior to the resin surfacing application.

 
 
     
 
     
 

Bitumen macadam / Asphalt Surfacing - Turnberry Golf Course, South Ayrshire, Scotland

Date: Feb-08

In advance of the R & A Open Gold Championships in July, the access road into the course was up-graded with a 20mm dense bitumen macadam binder course and a 10mm close graded surface course. Approximately 1000 sq.m.

 
 

Bitumen macadam / Asphalt Surfacing - Wrexham Industrial Estate

The existing hot rolled asphalt surface course was showing signs of considerable wear and tear. The surface was removed and replaced with a 14mm stone mastic asphalt hard stone surface course and road markings re-applied. Ancillary works included the installation of additional channel drains and the provision of buffer-kerbs for accurate parking of the HGV's trailers.

 
 
     
 

Bitumen macadam / Asphalt Surfacing - Manchester Royal Infirmary Hospital

Date: Mar-08

The existing carriageway approach to the hospital was planed-off and replaced with a new 10mm stone mastic asphalt surface course. The works were carried out over a weekend to avoid congestion and the road marking were reinstated by mid day Monday morning.

Civil Engineering - Cheshire Hospital

Date: Feb-08

Access road widening and resurfacing works to the foundation hospital's main entrance and roundabout. Due to the ambulance access requirements to the main A & E department, the main surfacing works were carried out at night time and other civil works at weekends. The site waste management plan (SWMP) minimised waste disposal and imported materials by recycling concrete kerbs insitu and using road planning to form a new overspill car park within the hospital grounds.
